Prior to the International All-Breed Canine Association Show (IABCA) held May 10th & 11th in Hutchinson, Minnesota there was an "EDUCATIONAL SEMINAR" held at Boot Top Aussies.
We had a combination of 27 breeders & enthusiasts of Toy & Miniature Australian Shepherds.
Breeders from Oregon, Utah, Montana, Missouri, Kansas, Texas & Minnesota all gathered in Iowa at Boot Top Aussies for a day of education, a chance to meet other breeders & make new friends.
WE STARTED THE DAY WITH A HOT BREAKFAST AT 9:00AM.
Our first three hour hands-on workshop was a presented by Heidi Saling on the subject:
"HOW TO BEST PRESENT YOUR DOG IN THE SHOW RING"

Our second workshop was a presented by Ruth Vanderhoof on the subject:
PUPPY EVALUATIONS: DISTINGUISHING SHOW/BREEDING PROSPECTS FROM PETS
Our new "PUPPY EVALUATION ROOM" was full for this seminar! Over 25 puppies
were evaluated for this seminar! Everyone left with a better understanding of all of the steps involved in the decision process to separate show/breeding puppies from pet/companion puppies.

Following the PUPPY EVALUATION CLINIC all of us that were planning on attending the
IABCA SHOW in Hutchinson, MN over the week-end & those that needed help learning to do a "SHOW GROOM" on their dogs all stayed and worked on grooming. Our new grooming room is not finished yet, but workable and everyone worked together to accommodate several dogs at once. We worked well into the night bathing, grooming, clipping, laughing, telling stories, and sharing the common link of the love of the breed. Every bed in the house was full, as well as a few camping on the floor!
