Here at Boot Top Aussies
we are pro-active about
continuing education to breed
the best dogs possible!
Listed below are some of the continuing education workshops & seminars
we have attended. These have been given by some of the most highly respected and successful breeders in the dog world today.

The influence of their success has helped mold our success!
Ruth Vanderhoof
I would have to write a book to share with you all that I have learned from this person. She is my mentor, and my very dear friend. She is the founder of The Toy Australian Shepherd Assn. of America and the first to ever show a Toy Aussie. I thrive off of her passion to continue to improve the breed. I could not even begin to put into words how fortunate we were to have found her when I made the decision I wanted to become a breeder. We would not be where we are today if it were not for the support and knowledge she has shared with us throughout the years.

Pat Hastings
Pat Hastings has been involved in the dog world since 1959 with over 250 Best In Show's to her credit. She is an AKC Judge. She has articles published in a wide variety of dog magazines. She is the author of several books discussing dog structure, successfully raising quality puppies, and the most recognized - creator of "The Puppy Puzzle". This is the process in which puppies are evaluated to determine pet/companion puppies from show/breeding prospects. Pat now travels world wide giving seminars on her puppy evaluation process. Pat Hastings has personally evaluated some of the founding females of our breeding program. I have attended her day long seminar teaching the process of "The Puppy Puzzle" and use that process here at Boot Top Aussies to evaluate our own puppies.

Tom Lams
Tom Lams has a gift with dogs like no other. He has been training dogs for over 45 years. When working with Tom he teaches "total connection" between dog and handler. His background comes from training guard dogs, police dogs, search and rescue dogs, and has had assignments in Hollywood training dogs for three different movies. He is highly recognized by professional handlers throughout the world as having a "special touch" with dogs. He currently travels from coast to coast helping breeders and handlers have better communication with their fur-partners. His workshop "Taking The Lead" is a life-altering education. I have had the privilege to not only attend one of Mr. Lams workshops, but have also been to his home for a private lesson. One that has changed forever the way that I work with my dogs. Communication is the key to really having a "connection" with dogs.

Richard Beauchamp
Richard Beauchamp has been successfully involved in practically every facet of purebred dogs. He has been a successful breeder, trainer, handler and AKC judge. He has judged champion events in Mexico, throughout the United Kingdom, Scandinavia, Europe, Australia,
New Zealand, South Africa, the Orient, Central and South America besides of course, North America. He has written numerous books. I had the pleasure to attend one of his lectures on his book: Solving the Mysteries of Breed Type. Mr. Beauchamp is a wealth of information on all facets of the dog world. His insight on "Breed Type" has helped me think through my breeding decisions to produce dogs that meet the Breed Standard.

Corky Vroom
Corky Vroom has piloted many top-winning dogs to over 750 All-Breed Best In Shows and over 4,000 Group 1st throughout his record-breaking career.
He has won the group at Westminster seven times. He has handled three dogs to Top Dog All-Breeds in the US. He was voted the Fido Dog Handler of the year two times and awarded the Kennel Review Dog Handler of the Year award twice. I have attended a two-day workshop with Mr. Vroom.
Being a successful handler comes from years of paying attention to all of the little details and giving yourself the best presentation possible. I appreciate those two days with Corky every time I enter the show ring. His voice is always a mouse in my pocket!

Cheryl Anderson
Cheryl Anderson is a successful breeder of Shelties since 1966, but she is so very much more. Her college background was comparative evolution. She has studied evolution through programs at the L.A. County Museum of Natural History, CIT Pasadena in the Chromosome Mapping Lab, and has done Biochemical research in a Burbank hospital laboratory. Cheryl travels the country judging and presenting several workshops/seminars. I have  had the opportunity to attend Cheryl's "Stamping the Look" seminar. I have also had the opportunity to attend a two-day round table discussion with Cheryl at the lead discussing breeding practices, color selections and genetic dominant / recessive issues. I also feel very fortunate to have her number in my cell phone and access to her incredible knowledge whenever I have a question. The knowledge this individual holds in her memory is incredible.
I truly feel gifted to have access to all of her years of study. She speaks the genetics language like no other.

Dr. Page, D.V.M.
Dr. Bob Page, considered by Pet Professionals to be one of the nation's leading authorities in canine pediatric health and kennel practices, Dr. Page maintains an active lecture schedule. He is the founder of Neo-Tech Vaccines based out of his home state of Tennessee. He developed the first effective canine parvovirus vaccine. NEOPAR has been labeled as the safest and most effective parvovirus vaccine on the market still today. I have attended two of Dr. Page's "raising healthy puppy" seminars. I also feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to privately sit and "talk dogs" with Dr. Page on more than one occasion. His drive to educate everyone he meets for the benefit of the puppies they raise is evident when watching the light in his eye when he is lecturing. Dr. Page personally introduced me to Chris, the owner of A to Z Vet Supply 800-979-2869. Chris studied under Dr. Page for several years. A to Z Vet Supply is located across the highway from the
Neo-Tech Lab facility. Together, Dr. Page and Chris have designed the vaccination and deworming program we use here at Boot Top Aussies.
